Our incredibly talented alum are sharing their gifts in richly diverse ways in a wide variety of fields. Back in the early 2000s TWS produced a series of seven alum magazines, called Outofbounds, featuring stories, news, art, and faculty features written by and for the alum community. It became a beloved and much anticipated annual publication. We hope to bring the alum magazine back to life with a new look and feel. If you are interested in contributing to this project in any way – as an editor, writer, graphic designer, photographer, videographer, artist, etc. – please reach out to our alum coordinator, Sara A., to find out more.

How exploring the English language early and continuously at Waldorf anchored me
I think a lot about language. It’s what sets us apart among earthly species. It distinguishes geographic regions, nations, communities, and even families. In fact, language is so idiosyncratic that it differentiates individuals. My speech and my writing – as a rule, they’re starkly different – stand out in dramatic and subtle ways from those of everyone alive and everyone who’s ever lived, both kin and strangers.
