Campaign Update
Here is an update of the Courage and Commitment campaign as of May 2012:
- 100% of our Faculty and Staff have contributed. While the focus was very much on their participation rather than on the dollar value, we are delighted to report that their total pledged gifts are significant at the $30,000 mark!
- 100% of our Board of Directors led by example and donated $100,000 – a crucial financial commitment to kick-start this campaign.
- We secured a significant grant from the Mulock Foundation, totaling $90,000 over 3 years. The first part of this grant came last summer and made possible the new lighting in the forum that has been illuminating our stage this year. The second installment was approved just days ago based on our recent report outlining last year’s work, and will help us to complete the lighting expense as well as begin our work for new desks and chairs for three classrooms a year from now.
- We received an additional $175,000 in pledges from two families in our community, willing to stand behind this campaign and the future of our school. We are very grateful to an alumni/ae family and the Morassuttis for their immediate and unwavering support of this effort.
- We have been able to secure $84,000 in commitments from additional families and friends in our community, bringing the total campaign amount pledged to $470,000. We are grateful to our donors: the Websters, Julian Mulock, the Liptays, the Oakes, the Fletchers, the Dunk-Greens, Patty Morris, the Yeung family, the Annesley-Francisco family, Diana Hughes, and others who have stepped forward with their gifts.
- We received a very generous donation from one of our founding faculty members, Elisabeth Koekebakker, towards the refurbishment of one of our Steinway grand pianos. We are also very grateful to John Mac Master for his time and expertise in supporting this project behind the scenes.
