Marketing Manager (Full Time)

Marketing at Toronto Waldorf School

We are in an exciting new phase in the life of the school – we have a good brand, new materials and a highly functional website. We are now looking to leverage this strong foundation in public relations strategies, online and innovative advertising, and in building relationships with local community partners. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in Marketing and a passion for Waldorf education who is willing to lead this work in a collaborative setting with the Development and Admissions offices, and the whole Faculty and Staff.

Purpose/Scope of the Position

This role is responsible for the overall Marketing strategy development and implementation, brand management, and  all communication about our school to the public, prospective parents, and current parents.  This includes oversight of the production of the weekly e-newsletter. The Marketing Manager is responsible for the TWS website, including working with contract support and our web vendor; all advertising and media coordination and planning, supporting the work to present ourselves at Open Houses and other in-house events; and collaborating with AWSNA and  Waldorf schools across Canada to coordinate marketing/advertising efforts.

The Marketing Plan is developed in collaboration with the Admissions Coordinator, Development Director, and Administrative Director. The Marketing Manager will present the annual Marketing Plan to the Board in the spring for the following year, and report regularly on the progress and results, and return on investment. A more detailed review and follow-up on the plan happens with the Administrative Director (to whom this position reports) on a monthly basis or as needed.

The person in this role will enjoy many of the hands-on aspects of the work including some photography, videography, writing, design, and editing. The scope of this position includes working with volunteer committees to promote events (Benefits, Auctions, Fairs, Camp, conferences etc); and will work closely with the Development Director and Development Assistant in the support of our fundraising campaigns, Alumni/ae relations, and related activities.

The new Marketing Manager will be building relationships with local community groups that are interested in understanding and supporting Waldorf education, and will continue to strengthen such connections already in place.
